Huawei Honor 7i Review

Huawei launched the new smartphone with flippable camera, named as Huawei Honor 7i. Huawei Honor 7i is a 5.2 inch device having 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution display. It is running on latest Lollipop OS. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 64-bit Octa core processor along with 3GB RAM, delivers amazing performance. It has dual camera, 13MP rear and 13MP front camera. It supports 4G LTE connectivity. Huawei Honor 7i is available for pre-order for a starting price tag of 1,599 Yuan in China.

Display

Huawei Honor 7i has 5.2 inch LCD IPS display having 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution at 424 ppi, delivers excellent display experience. The device has screen to body ratio of 79.8 percent. It has dimension of 141.60 x 71.20 x 7.80mm and weighing 160 gm, makes it slim but quite heavy. The device is not protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is disappointing for some users. But the device is featuring with finger print scanner which is embedded on the side of the phone, which can also be used as a camera button. Also Lenovo K80 and OnePlus One are featuring with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution display.

Power

Huawei Honor 7i is running on latets Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS with Emotion 3.1 UI on top, delivers smooth user interface. The 64 Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616, Octa-core (1.5 GHz Quad core + 1.2 GHz Quad core) processor along with 2/3GB RAM, accelerates performance, drives smooth multi-tasking to another level and fast web browsing with ease. With Adreno 405 GPU, games and videos will be excellent. It is available in 16/32GB internal memory, which is further expanded through microSD memory card for up to 128GB, so you can dump lot of data without shortage of memory. The performance is smooth without any lags and multitasking is smooth too. On other hand iBerry Auxus Beast is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek processor along with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

Camera

The 13MP camera on the 7i actually sits on a stem which can flip on a hinge atop the device. It it flip-up camera module which means that the rear camera unit itself will be the front facing camera too. The 13MP camera featuring with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and 28mm wide-angle snapper. The rear camera can go up to 180 degrees to transform into a selfie snapper and can also adopt various other angles for creative shots. It can record 1080p videos. It includes features such as Rotating Lens, Geo-Tagging and Touch Focus. Huawei claims that users need not worry about the flip-up camera, as its extremely sturdy and reliable. The company has also added the camera comes with SLR grade image signal processor, translating into better low light performance, balance and less noise. Additionally, the phone supports Auto Exposure, Auto White Balance, Automatic Face Recognition and Auto Smile Shutter. But Xiaomi Mi 5 is equipped with 16MP rear camera for even better photography than Huawei Honor 7i.

Connectivity

Huawei Honor 7i supports dual Nano-SIM featured with 2G, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity. The other SIM slot can be used as a microSD card. It has 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, micro-USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP and Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot connectivity. In addition it is featuring with FM radio, so you can stay connected with news and music. Also NFC connectivity is supported by this device.

Battery

The device is equipped with Non-removable Li-Po 3100 mAh battery for good battery backup. But the Lenovo K80 is loaded with 4000 mAH battery capacity, which provides better battery support than Huawei Honor 7i.

Price and Availability

Huawei Honor 7i is available for pre-order for a starting price tag of 1,599 Yuan (Rs 16,400) (China Mobile version). The China Telecom version is priced at 1,699 Yuan (Rs 17,500) while the China Unicom version is priced at 1,899 Yuan (Rs 19,500). It will be offered in Black, White and Gold color variants.
